Held in the rooms of Rudolf Steiner House, 307 Sussex St in the city, Gugubarra invites poets to read in the language of their choice. Often also features music, song, paintings, plays and dance as well as discussion of a chosen theme. The name Gugubarra honours the Wiradjuri origin of ‘Kookaburra’. The gatherings celebrate poetry and other arts including the art of conversation. It’s an initiative to bring together people from diverse creative disciplines and backgrounds held 3 or 4 times a year.
